"ANTIGUAN KNOWS GOOD HAIR"
Antigua and Barbuda's self acclaimed Beauty Surgeon, Dr. Dave Ray is featured in the new Chris Rock movie titled "Good Hair", which premiered in select Theatres today and in theatres across the United States on October 23.
This documentary film about hair, chronicles Chris Rock's journey across the United States and into India, to shed light on all the things black women will do to their hair, to get it to look the way they want.  In a trailer Chris Rock asks, "Why are women spending everything they have to have what they think of as "good hair? From weaves to relaxing and the fear of wearing it natural."

Dr. Dave Ray is seen more than a half a dozen times throughout the movie, playing the role of an official judge at the Bronner Brothers Annual "Hair Battle Royale Show" in Atlanta, which is undoubtedly the largest hair show in the United States.
Ray, who completed his doctorate in cosmetology, attended a private screening of the movie "Good Hair" on Thursday evening in New York City. He describes the movie "Good Hair" as "hilarious, entertaining and very enlightening."
Coincidentally, Ray recently completed his second book titled "What is Good Hair" which will be published in January 2010. He is currently on tour promoting his first book "Mind Your Business" which provides sound financial advice for small business owners. Ray is cautiously optimistic about how his appearance in the movie "Good Hair" can create a launching pad to market his new book "What is Good Hair."

Dr. Ray is based in New York and is the owner of the cosmetology practice "Destination Style."  He describes himself as an "overly patriotic" Antiguan and works closely with the US Tourism team on a number of promotional initiatives as the beauty, health and wellness coach.
